1. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. (The Samiti is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India.) 2. The schools hold classes from VI standard to XII standard 3. There are approximately 598 JNVs across India (as many as there are districts in India) as of 2014. 4. The only state without a JNV is Tamil Nadu. 5. An entrance exam, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST), is conducted by CBSE annually for admission to JNVs. 6.
