NEET COUNCELLING 2018



NEET Counselling 2018 – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the All India Quota counselling as well as the counselling for Deemed Universities from June 13, 2018, onwards in accordance with the notice released on June 8, 2018. As per the latest notification, the option to give and lock preferences has been extended till June 19 up to 11.00 PM. It read, "Choice filling and locking timing extended till 11:00 PM (19.06.2018)." Earlier the registration process was extended up to 10.00 AM on June 19. The MCC has also released a new detailed FAQs document along with the various seat matrix for seats available through All India Quota and Deemed/Central University counselling which candidates can check from this page. Candidates will be able to register for the first round of NEET AIQ and Deemed counselling till June 18. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), will conduct the NEET 2018 counselling first round for admissions to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Government medical and dental colleges across all states (except J&K), 85% state quota seats in colleges affiliated to Delhi University (Maulana Azad Medical College, Lady Hardinge Medical College, University College of Medical Sciences and Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences), 100% seats in Deemed and Central universities (including BDS seats at Jamia Millia Islamia) seats reserved for Wards of Insured Persons (IP quota) in Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical colleges and seats at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, between June 13 and June 23.

Candidates will be able to register on the official MCC website till 10.00 AM on June 19, and complete payment till 12 noon on June 19. The final choice filling and locking will be allowed till 11.00 PM on June 19. The process of seat allotment will take place on the MCC server on June 20 and June 21 while the result of NEET first round seat allotment will be declared on June 22. Candidates will be then required to report to their allotted colleges between June 23 and July 3, 2018. The second round of AIQ and Deemed and Central Universities' counselling will similarly take place between July 6 and July 22, while a mop up round exclusively for Deemed and Central Universities will be conducted between August 12 and August 26, 2018.
NEET counselling 2018 for the remaining 85% state quota seats (100% in case of J&K) in Government medical and dental colleges and seats in other private and self-financing institutions in all states will be conducted by the respective state counselling authorities. Candidates will need to register separately with different counselling authorities for participating in the NEET 2018 counselling process. NEET was conducted on May 6, 2018. The result of NEET 2018 was earlier declared on June 4, 2018.  Only those candidates who qualify NEET 2018 by scoring the minimum qualifying percentile will be called for counselling of NEET. Candidates will need to score a minimum of 50thpercentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General - PH) in order to qualify NEET and become eligible for NEET 2018 counselling and admission.

A total of 7,14,562 candidates qualified for NEET counselling 2018. The counselling of NEET 2018 will be conducted by the DGHS for AIQ seats in two rounds and for Deemed and Central universities in three rounds (plus an additional round for BDS seats). The first round of NEET 2018 counselling for AIQ and Deemed/Central universities will be conducted from June 13 onwards and the second round will be conducted from July 6 onwards. The seats which will remain vacant after two rounds of NEET counselling 2018 for AIQ seats will be transferred to the respective state counselling authorities by July 23, 2018.
The DGHS will conduct a NEET 2018 mop up counselling round for Deemed and Central universities from August 12 to August 26, 2018 followed by another mop up round for BDS seats between September 1 and September 11, 2018.
