IHMs are the most sought after colleges offering  hospitality  courses to aspirants. Rankings for  top hotel management colleges in India  are released by  India Today  and  Outlook . In 2019, six IHMs found a spot among the top 10 hotel management colleges in India as per the ranking released by  Outlook  and seven IHMs were present among the best  hotel management  colleges listed in the  India Today  ranking. The first IHM was established in the city of Mumbai in 1954 and as per records today there are 71 IHMs functional in the country.
