IHMs Ranking 2020
IHMs are the most sought after colleges offering hospitality courses to aspirants. Rankings for top hotel management colleges in India are released by India Today and Outlook. In 2019, six IHMs found a spot among the top 10 hotel management colleges in India as per the ranking released by Outlook and seven IHMs were present among the best hotel management colleges listed in the India Today ranking.
The first IHM was established in the city of Mumbai in 1954 and as per records today there are 71 IHMs functional in the country. Out of this number, there are 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 25 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management (SIHMs), one Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and 24 Private Institutes of Hotel Management.

Courses offered by IHMs in India
Academics for BSc Hospitality & Hotel Administration and ten other courses of study offered at IHMs are run and regulated by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) which is an autonomous body that falls under the ambit of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
IHMs offer undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programmes to aspirants in the field of hospitality and travel as well as baking and confectionery.
